Beehivers,
Happy days are here again. Swedish super-pop group ABBA are going to release From a Twinkling Star to a Passing Angel, a never before heard song that was recorded in 1981, reports Daily Mail. The single — originally a demo that didn't make the cut on to their album, "The Visitors" — will be included with other bonus songs and a DVD of archive material as part of the reissue titled, "The Visitors Deluxe Edition."
Okay, they had me at ABBA TO RELEASE FIRST NEW SONG IN 18 YEARS! All I saw was ABBA is getting back together — even if it's just for a day I just love them that much. To me they are the ultimate good time group. They fall into the same category as the B-52s: outrageous costumes, fluffy, kitschy, great songs, lots of fun and ALWAYS on rotation at a karaoke joint!
Here's some trivia tidbit: Did you know that Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad (the brunette singer) is a real-life princess? Her official title is: Her Serene Highness Princess Anni-Frid Synni Reuss, Countess of Plauen, after marrying Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss of Plauen, a German prince in 1992. Sadly, her husband passed in 1999.
ABBA's "The Visitors Deluxe Edition" goes on sale April 23.
To whet your appetite until the release, here is ABBA performing one of my favorites, Thank You For the Music. I mean, just look at their fashion, people. Not many people can rock that much power stretch lycra and not look like floozies. Bless them.
Enjoy!
