American Idol's elimination episode was full of surprises and featured performances by some of Country music's biggest stars -- Rascal Flatts, Sons of Sylvia, Lady Antebellum and, wait for it...Shakira. Yes, because when you think of Country music, Shakira ranks right up there with Loretta Lynn and Pasty Cline, right? Personally, I wanted to see Shania Twain sing, but oddly enough, Idol producers picked this week to not be obvious. Mentor Shania not taking to the stage for Country week was a big surprise!
Dear Idol producers: WTF, why didn't you pick the Miley Cyrus week to veer off this formula? Oh, and nice job on the Ford car, vampire-themed cheese-fest!
Ok, so let's get to the real reason we tune in. The bottom three: Michael Lynche, Casey James and Siobhan. What?! Casey and Siobhan land in the bottom group, but not Aaron Kelly! So who was voted off? SHOCKER here! Yep, Siobhan Magnus was eliminated and I really believe that America got it wrong this week. I thought that Aaron or Michael should have gone home before Siobhan. But at the end of the day, I don't think Siobhan would have won either. The real contenders for the Idol top spot are Crystal Bowersox, Casey James and Lee Dewyze. I'll miss Siobhan though. She was one of my favorites earlier in the competition because she was so unique and interesting. Siobhan sang Aretha Franklin's “Think” for her last song.
Tune in to Ellen's show tomorrow if you want more Siobhan. Best of luck to you girl
What did you think? Did America get it right??
