And she looks SPECTACULAR as the mistress of evil!  Angelina Jolie always looked her best when she's wearing leather or plethor or whatever you want to call it.  Just look at the horns and cheek bones and red lips and the sparkle of snake-like yellow in the eyes - Disney couldn't have casted anyone better for this role.  In fact, ghostly pale, bony frame, blood red lips, Angelina was born to play Maleficent!

The live-action film is a re-imagining of the 1959 Disney classic; however, with more background on why Maleficent becomes evil.  Via Us Weekly:

The flick "reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora," a press release explains.

"It's a really great script. I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted," Jolie said of the role in March. 

"My kids are very happy." 

"It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman [in a different way]," she explained of the new take on the story."I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities," Jolie added.

"You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is."

Elle Fanning, Dakota's sister co-stars as Aurora/Sleeping Beauty herself.  This looks fantastic, people.  What do you think of the Angelina as Maleficent?  Two gel-manicured thumbs up over here!
