I realize that Rihanna is so overplayed right now, but I've been dying to see the video for Coldplay's song, Princess of China ever since I heard about the two acts collaborating.  I must admit that it just seemed like an odd teaming at first, but not really since there's a whole venn diagram of posses here and the common ground seems to be Jay-Z who is BFF with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow who is also BFF with Beyonce and of course Jay-Z is the mastermind behind RiRi's career.  Got that? Good.  Anyway, I do like the track. I could do without Rihanna's Tarzanish jungle call in the beginning, middle and end of the song because really, unless your name is Johnny Weissmuller, nobody should do wild nature calls.

Okay so back the video, it's visually EPIC with a combination of several Asian cultures (Chinese, Japanese, Hindu) not just Chinese at the title suggests.  I think they should have gone with less Rihanna doing Shivaesque cosmic dancing and more of the yin/yang, good/bad, star-crossed lovers in a ninja battle theme because let's face it, in my book, chicks kicking ass with mystical swords never gets old.  Feel free to blame my dad and my brothers for my slight ninja and sword obsession.  My motto is everything's better with ninjas!
