For those who don't know, The Ting Tings are a new-wave, indie pop duo hailing from the UK comprised of Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, vocals and piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar and cow bells). They formed in 2007 whilst at Mill Artist Studios in Salford. 

Their bouncy first album, 'We Started Nothing' went double platinum, which made us sit up and take notice. They're best known for the single, 'That's Not My Name.' Inspired to create a more sophisticated sound for their sophomore album, 'Kunst' out soon, their new single 'Hands' was remixed by Calvin Harris, a.k.a. King of electropop. The song has danceable hooks, a thumping bass, fast electopop synths, with a 80's disco sound but with much finer qualities -- still distinctively Tings!

The video is typically minimal with people working hard to the beat and Katie with her not so perfect yet likable vocals asking you to 'Clap your hands if you're working too hard' which of course we all do...as well as sing along with the very catchy chorus. The first time I heard 'Hands,' I wasn't so sure if it would earn a playlist spot, but the more you hear it the more you'll love it!  

One thing is for sure and that's that The Ting Tings make insanely catchy tunes! Just ask Brobee, Foofa and gang at Yo Gabba Gabba when they stopped by the Super Music Friend Show to belt out the most amazingly cool happy birthday song EVER! Now that's my idea of a birthday song! Somehow a regular Happy Birthday song just won't be the same after hearing this...check it out. What do you think?
